How to Find an Investor for Your Project in Kyrgyzstan
Which partnership formats entrepreneurs choose, how much they look for, what to prepare for an investor, and what alternatives exist.
The short answer. Work out how much you need and what it will pay for, choose a format (equity, a loan or a share of revenue), prepare a brief project description and a financial model, then approach entrepreneurs you know and professional communities, and list your project on platforms such as InvestHub. Put everything you agree on in writing.
What amounts and formats entrepreneurs look for
Data from the InvestHub investment project catalog as of November 7, 2026: 493 projects.
| Format | Projects | Share | What the investor gets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Equity in the business | 267 | 54% | Part of the company and its profits; shares the risk |
| Loan | 188 | 38% | Repayment of the amount with interest under the contract |
| Share of revenue | 38 | 8% | Part of the revenue for a set period or up to a set amount |
Typical amounts requested (the middle half of projects):
- in dollars: 20,000–200,000, with a middle value of 60,000;
- in som: 500,000–3,500,000, with a middle value of 1,500,000.
Projects are most often in retail (164), services (85), real estate (54), manufacturing (53) and food production (48). These are the amounts project authors are asking for, not the money actually raised.
What to prepare for an investor
- A one-page description: what you sell, to whom, and why people will buy from you.
- The amount and a spending plan: how much you need and exactly what for. "For development" won't convince an investor.
- A financial model: revenue, costs and when the project breaks even, with clear assumptions.
- What has already been done: first sales, contracts, the team, premises.
- What the investor gets: equity or a percentage, the term, and how they can exit the project.
- Risks: name them yourself and explain how you will reduce them. Promising guaranteed returns will breed distrust and can create legal problems.
Where to look for an investor
- Personal connections: entrepreneurs in your field, suppliers, former colleagues. For small amounts, this is usually the fastest route.
- Listing platforms: list your project on InvestHub after registering. It goes live after moderation, and investors contact you directly from the listing.
- Professional communities and events: business associations, accelerators, entrepreneur meetups.
- City sections: investors may search by location, for example projects in Bishkek or in Osh. Give your exact city rather than just "Kyrgyzstan": 94 projects list only that, and they can get lost in city searches.
How to improve your chances
- Give real figures and your exact city.
- Add photos, documents and contact details.
- Reply quickly.
- Don't ask for an amount without the numbers behind it: the investor will have nothing to go on.
If you can't find an investor
For an operating business, there is bank credit. For example, in December 2025 Aiyl Bank listed rates on business loans in som starting from 16% a year (source). Terms change, so check the current ones with the bank. A loan doesn't require giving up equity, but you have to make the payments whatever the results.
Frequently asked questions
Which is better: equity or a loan?
A loan leaves the company in your hands but requires regular payments. Selling equity removes that burden, but you share profits and decisions. For a project without stable revenue, a loan is usually riskier.
How should I formalize an agreement with an investor?
In writing and with a lawyer: the amount, what the investor gets, the timeline, management rights and the exit procedure. If you promise a stake in an LLC, the list of members will have to be changed. Before raising money from the public, consult a lawyer: restrictions may apply.
Does InvestHub guarantee that I will find an investor?
No. InvestHub is an information listings platform. It does not raise users' money and does not take part in deals.
